If you don’t have a source vector file for your PNG file, then you’ll have to create a vector tracing it. It would be like trying to turn an omelet back into an egg. Since PNG is a raster format, there’s no way to directly convert it to a vector format. Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as converting one file type to another. Let’s say you have a logo, icon, or some kind of illustration that is in PNG format, and you want to convert it to a vector format in order to take advantage of all the benefits the vector format has to offer. This brings us to the topic of PNG files as it relates to the vector format. Because of this, vector graphics are better suited for simple illustrations, user interface, icons, and logo design. The downside of working with vector graphics is that they’re not as capable of producing fine details as the raster format is. This makes the vector format ideal for something like a logo design, where the design will need to be used in many different contexts. The benefit of working with vector graphics is that they’re easy to edit and they can be scaled up infinitely without quality loss. The following file types are examples of vector formats… Vector graphics can be scaled infinitely without quality loss Last but not least, should you have any doubt before you decide to take this class, do not hesitate asking me! I will be more than happy to help.Unlike the raster format, vector graphics are comprised of a series of coordinate points that dictate the properties of a graphic on an X and Y axis. It's all about knowing the right few tools needed! In the mentioned students' gallery there are some Adobe illustrator examples and on my Illustration Facebook group many people works these techniques in Affinity Designer, Illustrator, Inkscape, etc. I work in Affinity Designer for this class, although the principles, methods and techniques are the same for any other vector software, so it's up to the student to use this or any other software. Many may people is achieving amazing results and so will you!

It is full of magnificent examples where you will get a better insight of what you'll be able to achieve after taking this class. > I highly recommend you check the full student's gallery before taking this class!! << This is a project oriented class, where the student is expected to follow along together with me while creating the final project which is a full vector realistic car (Porsche 911).

In this class we are going to learn the principles, techniques, methods and mindset involved in the creation of highly realistic vector graphics. NOTE: This is not a class for beginners but for INTERMEDIATE USERS (you need to have familiarity with layers, masking, effects, transparencies, gradients and boolean operations (subtract, add, combine, intersect, divide).
